A timer, some tunes, and 13 tough hombres.

AO: The Norseman

When: 01/26/2021

QIC: Flo

PAX (13): Dr. Rico, Callahan, MT, Devito, HaHa, Walkie Talkie, White Claw, Hot Sauce, Pumba, Nacho Libre, Striper, and Lego

Preamble:

YHC had something else planned for this AM for this Norsemen, but with the weather looking rough we pivoted over to a “dry” pavillion for some 0.0 fun.  After a few minor technical difficulties, we were ready to go.  Disclaimer given and accepted.

Warm-O-Rama:

10- all IC of:

  • SSHs
  • Copperhead Squats
  • Hillbillies

It was about 60 degrees so we moved in to the Thang.

The Thang:

Playlist queued up, timer set (45s of work paired with 15s of rest).  Each round consisted of a new exercise.  Haha graciously brought his sandbags which were used as needed.

Wall jumps, walk out merkins, hollow holds, mountain climbers, squat/curl presses, skull crushers, side lunges, goblet squats, crunch frogs, american hammers, single leg dead-lifts, split squats, burpees, plyo merkins, peter parkers, under the fence merkins (goober dos), to name a few.

A special surprise came when Moby showed up to bring Sally-Up with merkins, then followed by ACDC’s Thunderstruck.  We air chaired and squat jumped on “thunder” and burpeed on “thunder struck”.  Seemed fitting for the mornings weather.

**my only regret was song selection, but there is always room for improvement.  It did pick up at the end with some Rage Against the Machine, Metallica, and ACDC.

COT:

  • We lifted prayers of concern for those struggling with Covid.  We now have something in common with every single person walking the Earth.  Some have certainly dealt with it in different ways, but none will leave this season without being changed.
  • We lifted prayers of thanksgiving for young hearts putting their faith in God.
  • We challenged each other to be that influencing figure in our circles

Naked-Man Moleskin:

I was honored to lead this morning and reconnect with some familiar faces, meeting a few new ones.  It was fun seeing Dr. Rico again.  We met playing golf back in the summer he luckily got thrown in with our group a few months ago.

YHC also got to briefly share about February’s mileage challenge to benefit www.Uboratz.org This ministry was also birthed out of a chance meeting.  Our very own Splinter left corporate America last year to give leadership and many F3 guys in Alpha, Ms, and 2.0s are joining with them to support this fundraising effort.  Teams are forming now and the virtual race will be run through the month of February.

You can either register for the event as a participant or a fundraiser.  Registering as a fund raiser will provide you with a link and fund raising page so you can share with friends or family for support.  It is really easy to do.  $40 registration fee for each option that goes directly to supporting their mission.

There is a 40 and 160 mile option, and you will log your own miles throughout the month.  Some of the Rubicon guys registered for the 40 and are teaming up with a partner to see if they can hit that 160.

Plus, Haha said he will pay for everyone’s F3 annual dues that registers!
