Twas a cool breezy winter morning & a 14Pax of Jammers showed up to celebrate a championship and and a champion. Let’s go.
Warm-O-Rama:
Mosey to the lake for some SSH, Toy Soldiers, Willie Mays Hayes, Weed Pickers, Arm Circles & Covids. Santa brought DJ Walkie a new toy so he could take his show on the road…
The Thang:
Yes the Georgia Bulldogs won the National Championship (again) this week in dominant fashion so we broke down the 4 Quarters on the big hill
First Quarter Score – 7 to 17 – 7 Burpees at bottom of hill; 17 Monkey Humpers at the top
Second Quarter Score – 7 to 38 – 7 Burpees at bottom of hill; 38 Shoulder-tap Plank at the top
We held plank at half time and talked it over; we’re sticking with the game plan of kicking a**
Third Quarter Score – 7 to 52 – 7 Burpees at bottom; 52 Merkins at top
Fourth Quarter Score – 7 to 65 – I know what you’re thinking…the opponent only scored one touchdown & didn’t score again? It’s true…7 Burpees at the bottom; 65 Mountain Climbers at the top. We are the Champions! We celebrated with some Mary & Jump Squats.
Yes, this was a 15-0 season so we have to celebrate that. Mosey to the boat launch for 4 Corners. 15 Big Boys, Squats, Freddie Mercuries, & Lunges. A few Pax were whistled and thrown into the Transfer Portal; 5 burpee penalty (Cookie for making me change up a good thing, False Start for his unavailability in Dec., & Brutus for missing too many practices)
Yes, this was Back to Back Championships so we paid homage to last years 14-1 season with another 4-corners lap of 14 LBCs, Bonnie Blairs, Flutter Kicks, & Crunchy Frogs. Yes, it was the Horned Frogs that went down this year. Oh, and 1 burpee per corner for last year’s sole loss.
Mosey to the dam for the final Bulldog celebration. Yes, we did SSH to “Who let the Dawgs Out” and a Burpee on each “Dawg”. Kirby let the Dawgs out and it was a beatdown for sure.
Mosey back to the flag. Monday is Martin Luther King Jr Day so our final song was in honor of him. He was a champion of justice, freedom, equality, and love. We exercised to U2’s “In the Name of Love” with various exercises & a Burpee on each “Love”. We we all be champions.
COT:
MLK, thank you for being a champion of change. Thank you for your courage and your voice speaking into something that’s right and true. Thank you for giving your life to this purpose. We are doing better but have a long way to go still.
Prayers for a fallen F3 Knoxville brother “Cardinal” (& the family of Taylor Phelps). When I read the words of his wife there was a definite sense of peace as she knows where he is. But the sudden loss of him is so hard to deal with. Prayers for continued peace, strength, & faith.

YHC was asked to share a truth nugget I shared at Rubicon yesterday. Sometimes, the key to living a more content life can be as simple as changing your thinking. Dr. Rob Robinson from Family Care Counseling Associates explains three psychological traps, called the “3-Cs”, that can pull you into the vortex of negativity.
The 3-Cs:
- C-complaining: negativity attracts negativity and complaining increases complaining. Complaining to others can spread like a mental virus and affect everyone around you. Instead of complaining, catch yourself and look for positive things to talk about or point out to others! You’ll notice an immediate improvement in your mood and the people around you will appreciate it too!
- C-criticizing:Criticizing in relationships triggers a trap known as the 4-Horsemen of the Apocalypse! A cycle of criticism-defensiveness-stonewalling-and contempt are started when someone is criticized. Criticizing another person is like giving injections of psychological poison to another person in the form of words. Instead of criticism, give encouragement to others. Catch people doing things right and let them know.
- C-comparing: When you compare your bloopers to another person’s highlight reel, you’ll always come away feeling badly about yourself! Human value doesn’t decrease, it’s always the same for everyone! Instead of comparing yourself to others, learn to appreciate your unique gifts and assets and look for ways to use your talents in every situation!
