Simple Sweaty Summer Sunrise Beatdown at Windjammer
AO: Windjammer
When: 07/28/2023
QIC: Walkie Talkie
PAX (11): Cookie, Deep dish, Dipstick, False Start, Maytag AI, Milli Vanilli, Sparkie, Townie, uga, Freon
Preamble:
With the promise of great tunes, cold towels, and hot coffee in our future, an 11Pax of Jammers set out into the humid gloom to get our sweat on.
Warm-O-Rama:
The only way to start a playlist that could contend for GOAT-status is with Simple Man by the dam. Yes we did SSH, Weedpickers, Imperial Walkers, Toy Soldiers, ArmCircles, & Michael Phelps. Be a simple kind of man!
The Thang:
Thang #1: “We went hungry” to the beat of Hunger Strike on the Windjammer 5 Times up and down with 5 Merkins at the top and bottom – we definitely ran it faster on the front end of the beatdown
Thang #2: “Look at the stars, look how they shine for you” Yes sir, we did curls, and a burpee on “Yellow”. You know I love you so.
Thang #3: We found another hill & ran it 3X to Little Lion Man & Summer of ’69; 40 reps per lap; 10 Merkins & 30 LBCs followed by 20/20 followed by 30/10
We moseyed back to Boys of Summer & stopped on an Island in the Sun to do squats…yes “we were playing and having fun!”
Thang #4: Grabbed some more coupons and did Colt45s and a run to All Apologies Why? Because “in the sun we feel as one…and all in all is all we are”. That’s why. To Flake we did some Pax called Flutters & Waterfall Burpees.
The Grand Finale: our fearless cold-towel-providing leader caps me at one Imagine Dragons song per beatdown. And despite peer pressure to break this rule, I obeyed. But I did save it for last. We ended with Squats & Speed Burpees on the chorus of I Bet My Life. We even had a heads-up battle in the center of the ring. So many burpees were done that we lost count. Nice work, Gents.
COT:
Prayers for Townie’s end of quarter workday today and Monday.
Praise for safe travel last night for FalseStart & daughters
Praise for 4Pax and their middle-school bound girls & today’s orientation.
Welcome to our newest FNG, Freon, who absolutely killed it today, and ended with a mic drop as he walked off the stage to an early call.
One more week of summer hours at Windjammer starting with a Monday ruck and swim from FalseStart’s house. (5:30 resumes 8/7)
Always a pleasure to lead, nice work today, Guys…no better way to start the day.
