Preamble:

It was an absolutely beautiful morning for a fun beatdown that hopefully did not disappoint.

Warm-O-Rama:

Omaha started us off with SSH, Good Mornings, Imperial Walkers and Willie Mays Hays.

The Thang:

Sharon Springs Park has ten fields in total (8 baseball and 2 football) and we decide to see them all.

On baseball fields 1-4, we started near 1st base performed 10 merkins, moved to 2nd base, performed 10 squats and moved to 3rd base and did 10 burpees.  The way we moved from base-to-base differed and included: walking lunges, bear crawls, high knees and sprints.  After we finished on each field we ran to the next field.

After finishing on Field 4, we ran up the street to fields 5-8 and performed a similar sequence, this time with a coupon, doing 10 curls, 10 presses and 10 overhead extensions.  The general consensus was that hardest part of this was simply holding the coupon for as long as we did to get through all 4 fields.

After returning our coupons, we ran to the football fields where the pax were introduced to a sexy siren named sally.  For those not familiar with sally, go to Apple Music and search “Bring Sally Up”.  In it the singer repeats “bring sally up, bring sally down” and every time she says down, you squat and hold until they say up.  You repeat for the full 3:24.  It’s not allowed to do the squat where you’re resting on your heels but instead you’re holding a chair squat.

We didn’t make it to the 10th field, but instead stayed on the football field and repeated Sally, this time with pushups for roughly 2:00 until we had to call time.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

This morning there were no prayer requests, which on the surface seems like a wonderful thing. However we know that many men are not always comfortable sharing or sometimes we feel like our problems aren’t significant enough to share.  I have a shirt that says “Everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about.”  We know this to be a very true statement.  I hope that anyone with a heavy heart finds an outlet to express their challenges.  In fact, this morning I read an article about a concept called Venting Journal.  It’s exactly what it sounds like – almost the polar opposite of a gratitude journal.  Maybe this could help you.
