Preamble:

The 7th Annual Crabtree had a legacy to live up to and despite Virginia Slim’s attendance taking a back seat to his running career, this year’s version lived up to every expectation and then some.  Meltdown dutifully stepped-up to take Slim’s place, and Swamp Donkey did a fine job of doing everything that Squeegee told him to do.

The Thang:

Swamp started things off by leading PAX to the playground for the first leg of the trifecta, which consisted of 4-6 rounds of the following:

  • 10 Pull-Ups
  • 20 Mercans
  • 30 Squats

At around 0715, Squeegee called time and split PAX into Clydesdales/Stallions and directed Clydesdales to take a direct route to the Roswell Square while leading Stallions up past the tennis courts and onto Crabapple Rd for the same destination.  Early finishers ran back for the six until all PAX arrived at the square, where Squeegee led a modified version of Captain Thor:

  • Perform 4 two-count flutter kicks.
  • Perform 1 BBS.
  • Increase reps by 4 & 1 respectively until reaching 40 & 10.

Once completed, AFLAC led PAX on a route through a Hogwallow classic cut-through behind Bulloch Hall, with a final destination of YHC’s place in Magnolia Walk.  All PAX were kept together with Stallions circling back for Clydesdales at specific turns, and PAX were greeted by a large stack of coupons upon arrival at Q’s casa (including 5 ABC’s and a pair of Meltdown’s fun-bags).  PAX were given clear instructions to haul ALL coupons up the hill to Virginia Slim’s place, which meant a whole lot of farmer-carrying and mumblechatter mixed in.

With all PAX and coupons settled in at Virginia Slim’s place, Meltdown instructed all PAX to follow a patriotic board full of themed exercises adding to a grand total of 248 repetitions across various exercises.  No pyrotechnics this year due to the hot and dry conditions.

With a cooler full of ice-cold beer as incentive, all PAX began the final slog up North Coleman back to the park with Stallions circling back for the six and some extra credit.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

On this day, we are reminded that there is MUCH more that binds us together than divides us as a people.  Never forget that.  Society tends to amplify the divisive voices and suppress the uniters.  As Bear stated, “…grateful I get to experience such community, joy and hard work with other awesome men on a consistent basis! We are lucky and blessed and people have no idea what they’re missing.”  Amen.

AFLAC, Squeegee, Swamp Donkey & Meltdown OUT!
