Grindstone 1 Year Anniversary

Preamble:

It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since we launched the Grindstone AO.  It seems like just last week YHC was lettering and painting the shovel flag and preparing to launch a new location nestled directly in the midst of many neighborhoods with countless sad clowns who need F3 more than they know.  A year has passed and I’m happy to see that the AO is stable and showing signs of growth.  We haven’t exploded right out of the gate like some other AO’s however we have a solid foundation of HIM who call Grindstone home and are committed to continuing the mission of giving it away and getting a little better each day with the DRP.  YHC took the Q and decided to do a reprise of the launch beatdown with a few modifications from lessons learned along the way.

Warm-O-Rama:

Short capri lap around the parking lot and football field to see if Swiper is late to the party….he wasn’t so we moseyed on without him.

• SSH x 15 IC
• Copperhead Squats x 12 IC
• Hillbillies x 12 IC
• Moroccan Nightclubs x 12 IC

The Thang:

Another mosey down behind the back baseball fields to point out the hill we started on last year that just about took out 2 PAX with rolled ankles.  This one looked good on paper but proved a bit irresponsible in hindsight.

On to hamburger hill for a round of 12’s since we were celebrating a year of the Grindstone after all (good call Sculley)

• Merkins at the top and Star Jumps at the bottom.  This really is the perfect hill…

Next, head over to the back corner of the big ass parking lot and partner up for some catch-me-if-you-can on the way over to the football field.

• Partner 1 does 3 burpees while partner 2 backwards moseys along the route.  Flapjack when partner 1 catches up.

Once at the football field, keep same partners for BOMBS.

• 50 Burpees, 100 Overhead Claps, 150 Merkins, 200 BBSU, 250 Squats – combined count
• Partner 1 does reps on goal line while partner 2 does butt-kickers to the 50 yd line and high-knees back to relieve partner

Had a end this one at the BBSU’s for time to head back to the flag for some round-robin Mary:

• Alpha convergence at the Gladiator on October 19th.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Cheers to a year of the Grindstone.  It was a little rocky there for a bit but we rebounded and are going strong.  Can’t wait to see what the next year brings and beyond.  Humbled and privileged to be surrounded by so many HIM.
