Up On The Rooftop
AO: The Grindstone
When: 12/09/2019
QIC: Whiz
PAX (9): Sculley, Whiz, Kick Six, False Start, Full Moon, Milli Vanilli, Cookie, Olaf, Stroller
Preamble:
YHC had a successful Christmas movie-themed Q at the Grindstone last week and was hoping to find inspiration for the double-feature this morning but nothing struck. We’ll stuck with the holiday theme but changed it up a bit. Rolled in early to 2 cars already parked with no one in them. One if for sure Sculley but who’s with him? Stroller!!! Great to see our Gladiator brother up for some betterment.
Warm-O-Rama:
Half-lap mosey around the trail and circle up for
- SSH
- Hillbilly
- Moroccan Nightclub
The Thang:
Mosey around the back of the football fields to the kick-wall where the mission was given. We were all going to experience what it’s like to be Santa Claus on this fine gloomy morning.
Thang 1 – Up on the rooftop.
Just landed the sleigh on the roof and need to get down the chimney to do work. Turns out Santa has no magic here and just slides down and suffers through the heat.
Line up for Wall of Fire. PAX wall sits while each takes turns doing 10 merkins, 10 LBC (or BBSU), 10 burpees
Thang 2 – Better to give than receive
Now that we were down the chimney, it was time to put presents under the tree. Grab a Santa-sized coupon for a modified Dora-esque routine. Stay solo and do 50 bent over rows (retrieving gifts from the sack) and 50 genuines (placing gifts under the tree). Perform 10 reps and then run down to the sign and back alternating exercises in between each.
Thang 3 – O Christmas Tree
After stacking the presents under the tree with care, we took a quick minute to have some milk and cookies and enjoy the splendor of the family tree before heading back out. Ring of fire in plank for 3 rounds.
Round 1 – hold back plank with 10 Australian snow angels around the circle
Round 2 – regular plank with 5 Alpha count Jingle Balls around the circle
Round 3 – chilicut plank with 5 start jumps around the circle
Thang 4 – Back up the chimney
Time to hurry back up to the roof before the kids wake up. No magic here either, just Santa’s trusty ladder. Line-up on the football goal line and sprint to the 30 yard for 1 burpee, back to the goal line for 1 merkin, then 2 burpees, 2 merkins, 3 burpees, 3 merkins….up to 5.
Mosey back to the flag for a quick round of Dolly and we’re done.
Whew, who knew Santa had to do so much work just to deliver presents on Christmas Eve!
COT:
Prayers for all the sad clowns in North Forsyth who need F3. Also, please support Sculley’s mission trip to Chimbote in late January however you can. Check Slack for his go fund me page.
