Preamble:
The pre-blast on Slack said YHC had a special Q on deck and the PAX would have to post to find out the “what” & the “why”. The mumblechatter online was fun to watch, but still nobody knew what was in store. As 5:30a quickly approached, the PAX reluctantly got out of their warm, dry vehicles… but they did eventually get out. And in plenty. 15 total PAX decided to defy Cantore and post in the gloom on this cold rainy day. No need to worry, YHC had a plan (and a backup plan). After a quick disclaimer, the PAX were told this would be a 4 year anniversary Q and we would be jumping into a time machine to go back to 2016 for some old school routines and a downright party. It went something like this:
Warm-O-Rama:
Mosey over to the hidden lawn in between the baseball fields for a good ole fashioned dose of
- Side Straddle Hop
- Imperial Walker
- Windmill
As the rain continued to come down, we next moseyed to the Field of Dreams for an oldie but a goodie.
The Thang:
Mucho Chesto Cycle
- 10 merkins at home, bear crawl to 1st
- 10 diamonds at 1st, crab walk to 2nd
- 10 wide merkins at 2nd, reverse crab to 3rd
- 10 stagger at 3rd, cheetah run home
- 10 opposite stagger
Rinse and Repeat.
Next up was PAX choice. They were given a chance to head to the pavilion for an audible or stay in the rain and finish off the time machine trip. As expected, we stayed out in the wet for another old classic, the 3 Man Relay around the upper baseball field near the dog track.
3 Man Relay
- A runs ahead, B does 10 merkins while C is holding the legs of B, and doing 10 alternating squats
- Once complete, the PAX call to partner A who stops running and planks
- partner A then does merkins, B holds and C runs
We completed a full lap, then shuffled partners for another complete lap of fun. Next up was some coupon fun. The PAX were told to grab a challenging rock from the new pile by the pool.
Colt 45
- 15 curls
- 15 chest press
- 15 rows
For the next 2 rounds, we would randomly move 4 places to our left. MillerTime complained about pocket rocks. After a quick mosey back to the flag including a last stretch all out spring, we ended the beatdown with 3 minutes of Mary.
COT:
Lots of prayers for family members and friends were asked of. YHC spoke about how much of an impact F3 has had on his life the past 4 years. YHC challenged the PAX to get more involved with F3 including visiting other AO’s, 2nd F gatherings, 3rd F events, VQ, CSAUPs, etc.
Always an honor to lead these HIM.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
If someone asked me to sum up what F3 means to me over the past 4 years, I would easily say F3 helps me focus on seeing & believing in a world that is much bigger than one’s self. I am forever grateful for the opportunities and friendships that it has opened me up to. From the mission trip to Puerto Rico, the community service projects, the No Longer Bound partnership, the coffeeteria conversations, the F3 business accountability group, Q Source, Truth Nugget Thursday, the CSAUP events, the 2.0 workouts, to the lifelong friends I’ve made…. F3 always has been and continues to be much more than a workout for me. F3 is by far the most positive organization I have ever been a part of. And the most humbling as well.
Special thanks to the guys early on that pushed me on every workout including Boomer, Nacho, DC2, Mufasa, Swiper, Foghorn, Hickory Stick, Grits, Crack, the late Darth Visor & many more. Thank you to Flo for the original EH and the lifelong friendship we have. Thank you to all of the other F3 guys I’ve worked out with consistently over the years including HaHa, MillerTime, Devito, Zima, Whiz, Sculley, Lumberg, Pinky, Mayhem & many more. And to the newer relationships I’ve built including all the new faces at the Rubicon and even my RNG Clown Car boys. Thankful, grateful & blessed.
