You only get wet…thrice?
AO: The Grindstone
When: 05/03/2021
QIC: Whiz
PAX (9): Whiz, Snowman, Pink Nightmare, Sculley, Inseam, Schneider, Crab Cake, 5-way, Swiper
Preamble:
YHC decided to change things up a bit this morning and Q a low mosey beatdown to rest the legs a bit. Aside from a handful of lightning flashes off in the distance, all was dry and calm at the flag at 5:28. A very brief shower as we geared up and prepared to head out into the gloom.
Warm-O-Rama:
Capri lap to swing back and pickup Crab Cake and then mosey around the back lot by the tennis courts to dry off from the first rain. Another slightly more robust shower passed through and some mumblechatter about how you can, in fact, get wet more than once during a beatdown. Circle up for some SSH, weed picker, good morning, and sprinkler IC.
The Thang:
A brief check-in with the PAX on comfort level with the lightning (there wasn’t any close by) and we headed over to the tennis courts.
A few rounds of 4 corners around the perimeter of the tennis courts, changing courts in between rounds to break it up some.
Round 1 – Inchworm between corners, 5 burpees every time you pass the net
- C1 – Squats x 10
- C2 – Jump Squats x 10
- C3 – Backward Lunge (alpha) x 10
- C4 – Star Jump x 10
Round 2 – Duck walk between corners, 5 burpees, 5 bonnie blairs (alpha) every time you pass the net (*T-Claps to Snowman for the inspiration)
- C1 – Merkin x 20
- C2 – Diamond merkin x 20
- C3 – Wide merkin x 20
- C4 – Ranger merkin x 20
Round 3 – Crab walk between corners, 5 burpees, 5 bonnie blairs (alpha), 5 wolverines every time you pass the net
- C1 – LBC x 30
- C2 – Crunchy frog x 30
- C3 – Freddy Mercury x 30 (alpha)
- C4 – Flutter kick x 30 (alpha)
A few swimmers while waiting for the 6 to make sure our fronts were as wet as our backs….more chatter about getting wet multiple times.
Mosey back to the flag to finish strong with a burpee apocalypse.
COT:
Praise for Snowman’s MIL and for no major problems and quick care after her fall this weekend. Lots going on around the region with the blood drive, Chimbote support, convergence, 2nd F at NoFoCo Brewery this Weds.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
- You can tell roughly how far away lightning is from your location by counting how many seconds it takes for you to hear the thunder after you see the flash. 1 second = 1 mile
- Sculley propositioned Crab Cake during the beatdown. #heardAtF3
