F3 Raptor Launch!
AO: Raptor
When: 06/01/2021
QIC: Pitstop
PAX (9): Brimstone (F3 Cherokee), Hasslehoff, MillerTime, No-See-Um, Pass Interference, Stu, Trebek, Waffles
Preamble:
It’s time to grow. As we all know F3 has been a runaway success and the numbers just keep coming. Once again the Rubicon has filled up and is regularly posting numbers between 16-30 so it’s time once again to split. Rubicon has been giving to me for years, now it’s time to step out in faith and start a new location.
Alpharetta Elementary School (aka “Raptor”) is a great location for us. It’s still central to Alpharetta and can draw Rubicon guys who live on the north side of town and south of Norseman. It is close to the new Innovation Academy and can access the football field, bleachers, and track located there. It has a grass field with mini-track, a paved basketball court, lots of parking lots, a fantastic set of pull-up equipment, and long runs through a quiet neighborhood.
8 Pax joined me today for the launch, and I’m looking forward to seeing who the “regulars” turn out to be.
Opening Thoughts
- As we will be closer to homes at this location, we will need to be aware of our noise level. Don’t want to make enemies.
- We are going to be good “tenants” of our new AO, and the Q will bring a trashbag each day. Please pick up litter along the way and let’s leave it better than we found it.
- We will have to learn the traffic patterns when school starts, and make adjustments on the fly in order to stay safe and not cause conflict.
- In the spirit of “modify as needed” we will look for opportunities to “boost” the workout (increase the difficulty for those that need more challenge).
Warm-O-Rama:
Moseyed to the grass field for the classic:
- SSH
- Imperial Walkers
- weed pickers
- Moroccan Nightclubs
- Overhead claps
The Thang:
- Moseyed to “The Hill” for 11s: squats and big boy situps.
- Moseyed to the back playground for a partner workout:
- One partner does 5 pullups
- The other partner balls to the wall
- total of 3 sets
- Moseyed around the school and out the Escape Hatch almost to The Academy. 20 American Hammers
- Moseyed back to the field for a Mini-Dora: Derkins on the railroad ties while the other partner ran the track.
- Moseyed to the lower parking lot for a mix of bear crawls, crab walks and lunges.
- Back to the flag for dips and Mary.
COT:
A perfect reminder from Hasslehoff: Guys can get lost in a big group, which is why we started the Raptor.
- Prayers for Vanelope (sp?) who – along with two at-risk kids) has COVID.
- Prayer for the missing boy from yesterday.
- Prayers for Hasslehoff’s impending move to Dallas and his difficult decisions.
