The Dawning of… the dawn…

Preamble:

Former Site Q Lefty (long live Lefty) teased the beatdown with a changing of the Site Q for Rubicon, and the new site Q as the mystery Q.  YHC sped in on two wheels and emerged with a frisbee hidden (don’t ask where); and at 5:30 stepped forward into my destiny- Behold, the Dawn of the Age of the FannyPack.

Rubicon General Counsel (Caffey) enthusiastically approved of the disclaimer.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey around the corner, past the old rec center, to the parking lot past the ditch.  The big crew warmed up with 15x SSH, 10x Windmills, 9x Weedpickers, and 15x Imperial Walkers.  We startled a couple of highly dedicated basketball players court on the way.  Mosey to the nearby playground.

The Thang:

Morning Call

We started out at the playground, 3 PAX doing the pullups together at a time.  5 pullups, counted off, while the rest of us hold high plank and mercan-in-time until all PAX have pulled-up.  Mosey to the FOD.

FOD on the FOD

Pax count off 1 to 4, then start at the corresponding base (4=Home).  Each base has an exercise:

• 1st: AMRAP Squats
• 2nd: AMRAP Mercans
• 3rd: AMRAP LBC’s
• Home: 15 Burpees

When the group at Home finishes, they shout “Mooove” and everyone rotates to the next base.  Continue until all PAX have burpeed.

Whamo Lunge Walks

Now time for the Frisbee.  One PAX throws, and all PAX immediately sprint toward the in-flight frisbee.  As soon as it touches down, all PAX lung walk to the frisbee’s resting place.  ~10 rounds, and the throwers can sub in bear crawls, bunny hops, etc.  Lots of confused bunnies.

Captain Thor

As it became clear that we were out of steam, we went to the in field for a round of judgment-free Captain Thor.  All abs: BBSU+AC American Hammers, count is 1:4, 2:8, … 10:40.  YHC counted the starting number, rest is OYO.

Indian Run

Finished off with dueling lines & a lap around the whole field.  We all know who won.

Mosey back to the flag.  YHC’s true leadership shone as I confused everyone during Mary.  (I thought there was some kind of ceremony with the flag, no, just a regular finish.)

Yeah so no ceremony at all.  That’s ok.  Seriously.

Seriously, very glad to be part of this group and to be able to serve as Site Q.  I shared two related verses at TNT:

“The greatest among you shall be your servant.” (Matthew 23:11).  Find where ever your team’s greatest need is, and go there first.  Everyone else is headed there too, so you’ll be positioned to lead by anticipating what would best serve others.

“And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.” (John 3:19-21).  Kinda dark, but the fact is I rejected my invitation to join F3 for a full year- even though I needed it- because I preferred the fart sack.  It’s not those guys over there who prefer the darkness, it’s me.
