Suicide Sandwich served up to the new Site Q – Baskins

Preamble:

YHC’s swan song as Site Q at Big Creek so I had to bring the pain to tee it up for the incoming smolder master – Baskins!

6 pre-runners returned to the flag only to be welcomed by 5-Way and… UMass?!!!  Welcome – glad you could make the extra 5 minute drive to join us!!

Then, in rare form, Swiper shows up early.

It was truly destined to be a special gloom sesh.

Warm-O-Rama:

Standard short mosey turned into something more..

In all of the hoopla of showing up early and with all of the extra time, Swiper forgot his gloves in the car.  As YHC calls the start, Swiper bolts to his car to grab the keys to grab his gloves.  But in the melee, he proceeds to shove his keys deeper into the wheel well of the BWM. Assuming the grease monkey position, butt crack and all, he fails to obtain the keys.

Sim Simma who got the keys to my beamer?

Clearly not Swiper.

No keys, no gloves, no issue for the seasoned HIM.

We mosey on to the bottom of Mt Kilimanjaro for MOTIVATORS!! followed by GMs, WPs, and Michael Phelps.

The Thang:

Kilimanjaro Suicide Round 1

6 total ‘No Parking’ Signs divide up the hill.  At each sign, proceed to do an additional Burpee (Sign 1, 1 Burpee, Sign 2, 2 B’s, etc) returning to the bottom of the hill after the exercise.

UMass comments ‘why did I drive an extra 5 mins for such an easy workout?  If you’re a real Q, you’d make us do the exercise at each sign along the way to the target sign’. Noted..

Kilimanjaro Suicide Round 2 – UMass Style

At each sign, proceed to do an additional 2 Big Boy SUs (Sign 1, 2 BigBois, Sign 2, 4 BB’s, etc) returning to the bottom of the hill after the exercise.  And yes – this time, we need to honor each sign with it’s prescribed exercise as we pass it on the way up the hill.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

YHC had the honor of bearing the flag at Big Creek for a year and it’s been a great blessing.  I honestly felt like I got the flag prematurely last year.   But as YHC and Baskin’s were discussing on the pre-run, sometimes leadership provides the necessary guard rails to keep you on track simply because you know you need to lead.  This helps fight through the up and downs of emotions and well..just life.  I’ve also seen that being in a leadership position pulls things out of you that you never knew you had.

I believe this will also be the case with Baskins which is why I am so honored to hand the flag off to this HIM.  He’s already brought passion, sincerity, and best of all Humor to the group.  Laughter brings people closer together.  I’m excited to witness the new growth and changes to Cumming’s first AO under his leadership.
