Clear the Board
AO: Boneyard
When: 05/23/2022
QIC: Speedo
PAX (5): FannyPack, RaspberryPi, Speedo, Trebek, Zohan
Preamble:
With rain threatening, YHC planned a pavilion-based workout. A board of pain and assorted supplies were dropped off early. Cars started rolling in, the flag was planted and it was suddenly 5:30. A welcome and disclaimer were given and we were off.
Warm-O-Rama:
Mosey behind the amphitheater and back toward the pavilion for:
- Weed pickers IC x10
- Hillbillies IC x10
- SSH IC x10
- Moroccan night clubs IC x10
The Thang:
Short mosey to the pavilion where YHC revealed the board of pain. There were 16 different exercises, 4 each for upper body, core, lower body and cardio. Next to each exercise were 20 vertical lines (see photo) each representing 20 reps of that exercise (except for the cardio). PAX were instructed to perform an exercise then wipe a line off the board. The goal was to clear the board. PAX were encouraged to pick exercises from different groups and not repeat any until they’d done at least one set of each exercise. At some point QIC modified down to 15 reps and we started focusing on certain sections of the BOP to get maximum swole effect. We didn’t quite clear it but had a ton of “fun” trying.

Naked-Man Moleskin:
The inspiration for this beatdown came to me during church yesterday. We are studying the book of Ecclesiastes and were on chapter 4 which includes the following verses which I believe reinforce some of the F3 tenets:
9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
This is why we HC. This is why we pick up the 6. This is why we do hard things before much of the community has even woken up. If I had asked each PAX this morning to take a single exercise and do all the reps by himself (e.g. farmer’s carry with cinders), he may have finished but he’d be gassed and might have dropped one of my precious cinder blocks. Instead, we shared the load and knocked out much more of that board together than we could have done individually.
Thanks for working hard and pushing through this with me.
