Making a deposit at the ATM
AO: Boneyard
When: 09/26/2022
QIC: Speedo
PAX (6): Bo Knows, HotSauce, Mater, Speedo, Late Fee, Tron (F3 Jax)
Preamble:
With several guys out today, I knew it would be a smaller crowd. Four of us were ready to go at 5:30 and after a questionably thorough disclaimer, we started a mosey. Luckily we came back by the parking lot and found two more latecomers and then we were really on our way. YHC had suggested headlamps for this workout and one guy actually drove into the park wearing his with the light already on :).
Warm-O-Rama:
Mosey to a parking lot (there are so many) for:
- SSH IC x15
- Weed pickers IC x10
- Hillbillies IC x10
- Hang 10s (cross right foot over left foot and hang down for 10-count, change legs and repeat)
- Michael Phelps OYO
The Thang:
Mosey to the pull-up bars for a morning call. Pax plank while two at a time go to the pull-up bars for 10 pull-ups. Cycled through all of us and took off again.
Mosey to the parallel bars for 2-at-a-time knees to chest. Straight arms on bars and lift knees to chest. Other pax were planking. The comment ‘sneaky hard’ was overheard at some point.
Mosey down to the pond wall for:
- 20 step-ups
- 20 derkins
- 20 dips
- run up and down the stairs
Rinse and repeat with 15 of each and a stair climb.
Mosey up the path and out of the park to the bank on the corner. Does anyone remember when that used to be a daycare center? We stopped at the ATM to do some ATMs:
- Alternating shoulder taps x20
- Tempo (aka copperhead) merkins x20
- Merkins x20
It kind of felt like a mucho chesto with someone filming you.
Mosey to the yet-to-be-named donut where we partnered up. We split up into two groups on opposite sides of the circle and bear crawled toward each other. When you met your partner you stopped and did 25 big bois. Keep bear crawling with 25 v-ups the next meeting. Next, we crawl beared (or crab-walked depending on how your brain processed the words crawl bear) and did 25 LBCs when we met. Continue the crawl bear and 25 hammers at the end. Early finishers did some mary.
Last mosey to the parking lot by the basketball courts. 50% speed mosey to the end with three burpees (how did we go this long with no burpees??). 75% speed mosey back to the other end with four burpees. 100% speed mosey to the end with threats of burpee penalties if any of the respect/double respect guys beat the younger guys. No burpees were done as time was called.
COT:
Prayers for safe travels for Tron as he travels back to Jacksonville today.
Prayers for the people of Florida as they brace for a hurricane.
Prayers for Bo Knows’ M as she just finished her first week of chemo.
Hot Sauce’s wrestling team has a fundraiser coming up. Check Slack for details.
F3 Alpha convergence on Saturday 10/29 at the Boneyard. 6:30 start. More details coming on Slack.
Prayers for wisdom and for others to see that wisdom in us…not to draw attention to ourselves but to be an example to others.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
I was inspired by these words of wisdom I read in a backblast last week:
Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard.
Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard. Choose your hard.
Being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your hard.
Communication is hard. Not communicating is hard. Choose your hard. Addiction is hard. Getting and Staying sober is hard. Choose your hard.
I’m sure there are many other examples (parenting, leading a business, etc.) but you get the point. Life is hard (at times) for everyone. You’re not the only one going through difficulties and you’re not alone going through your difficulties. Lean on your F3 brothers and I predict you’ll find a rock-solid foundation that will help hold you up. If it’s something that is getting out of control or for which you need professional help, be man enough to recognize and acknowledge you need help and get the help you need. We will stand with you in the battles.
