Dad’s Day BD (“What is this? Some kind of joke?”)

Preamble:

As most of us are fathers or aspiring fathers-to-be, YHC felt the BD leading up to Father’s Day weekend deserved a special BD:  one of laughter, one of tears, a memorable BD that inspired all PAX to shake their head in exasperation (and perspiration) and crack a smile nonetheless.  Maybe inspire a chuckle or two.  To quote a former president, a BD that “will live in infamy.”  Are you laughing or crying???  Maybe both!  Who knows?  Reminds me of being a dad.  Happy Dad’s Day F3 Nation!

Thankfully 9 PAX showed for the BD so we had 3 teams of 3.  BD consisted of a scavenger hunt.  Your team gets a clue that leads you to a spot around the AO.  Task is simple – follow the clue, run to your location, complete the prescribed exercises, get your next clue and a piece of a Dad Joke. Follow the next clue and run to your next spot.  First team to assemble all their pieces and their dad joke back at the flag is the winning team.

The Thang:

Format: While one teammate is completing the Main Ex, the other PAX are completing the Other PAX Ex.  Each team has discretion on how to split up the Main Ex.

The teams grabbed their first clue and were off.

Station 1: Sprouts parking lot

Team 3 (including YHC) was first in, but a bit unfair considering it included the Q (Q attests, the team did their own work).

Assembled Dad Joke:  How do you find Will Smith in the snow?  Follow the fresh prints!

Team 2 came in panting at 2nd Place (adjusted first place).

Assembled Dad Joke:  Why couldn’t the toilet paper cross the road? It got stuck in a crack.

Team 1 followed shortly behind Team 2 with a strong 3rd place finish!

Assembled Dad Joke: What’s red and smells like blue paint?  Red paint!  (Occam’s Razor humor)

With some leftover time, we finished with a round of Mary core workout and a 5 burpee exclamation point.

Dunkin gift card prize to the winning Team 2 (and the non-Q PAX from Team 3).  Good job HIMs!  But everyone is a winner here as the 2ndf coffee at Dunkin was covered by the victors.

Prayers for all dads and those that may be disconnected from their fathers.  Families without fathers is truly one of the worst problems in our nation/world.  May we all step up and stand in the gap for our families/2.0’s.

Prayers for those (Josh Shirley) continuing to deal with cancer and treatment.
