WESTCOT III: Musical Edition

Preamble:

Three years ago when Nirvana launched a runner up name option was WESTCOT: (Westside Experimental Strength Training Community of Tomorrow)
But it did not win out so instead I have turned this into an annual event to remember what might have been. It is commemorated by WESTCOT week leading to the first Saturday in October. I almost slept on it this year but Stroller, the top notch accountability partner, reminded me of the timing and I was back in it.
Unfortunately a busy September and a very busy work week left me little time to engage on the anniversary of the opening of EPCOT and Disney World. I can still bring it for the beatdown

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey around for some SSH, WP, IW, Windmill, arm circles

The Thang:

Back to the Northwestern track for a revisit of the original Westcot workout. An escalator of exercises with a lap in between each round adding on exercises. When you get to the full workout you start shaving off the top. Plenty of running and good catching up with people.

With 20 minutes left I cut that off for a Special K inspired music trivia of disney songs. Pax are in two teams and name the movie. Loser does 5 burpees, winner picks an exercise. Some highlights include:

• Pinkey hitting Aladdin and the song on just two notes.
• Shortcake shouting Mulan until I finally played a Mulan song
• “Standing shoulder taps”
• Tank with the top score from what I could tell, although Pinkey was right there.
• The awkward silence when a couple walks by while guys do burpees to Beauty and the Beast.

Back to the flag for some mary and of course 10 burpees by Avis
