Preamble:

The Q sheet has been filled for a bit after our earlier in the year "fill the sheet" push, but I was able to snag the closest option to my Bday Q. Inspired by the IPC workouts this month, I decided to take bits and pieces from each of them for this beatdown to properly celebrate with the PAX. I'd been monitoring the weather forecast with Hurricane Helene on its way to GA and we caught a nice taper in the rain to get this one in on the field.

Warm-O-Rama:

Once everyone of the on-time crew members had arrived, we grabbed our cinders and headed to the field. After dropping them on the baseline, we moseyed to the far end and back to the center circle. Our usual latecomers had arrived by now, so we warmed up with the following:
  • SSHs
  • Hang overs
  • Windmills
  • Copperhead squats
  • Tempo merkins
  • Moroccan night clubs

The Thang:

We began on the endline with round 1:
  • 9 sets of 5 burpees and 5 thrusters at each of the lines along the field
  • At midfield and the opposite end, we did 25 cactus jump squats
  • MOT on the first half of the field was murder bunnies, 2nd half of the field was farmers carry with one arm
  • Cactus jump squats, SSHs, or go back for the 6 until everyone was back in
Round 2:
  • 9 sets of 5 curls and 5 kettle swings at each of the lines going back the length of the field again
  • At midfield and the opposite end, we did 25 V-ups with a cinder press
  • MOT on the first half of the field was farmers carry (other arm), 2nd half - rifle carry
  • Same exercises until all PAX were in
Round 3:
  • Bear crawl between lines for half the field
  • Starting on the end line, alternate between 10 merkins and 5 merkins until you reach midfield
  • Bear crawl all the way back to the start
Time was nearly up, so head back to the flag with perfect timing on the finish

COT:

Prayers for all the people in the path of Hurricane Helene in FL and GA I always appreciate the opportunity to lead and each member of the PAX who came out on what could've been a messy AM; hope everyone remains safe during the storm Here's to year 46
