AO: The Bridge

When: 2025-02-07

QIC: Zohan

PAX (10): Animal, Boomer, Fuzzy Dice, Hackeysack, Humperdinck, Maguire, Scrooge, Spackle, Stix, Zohan

Preamble:

First Q in a while. Last was in Dec'. Pre-rucked to get some inspiration. Same exercises, but changed locations. 9 pax joined me for what was expected to be a drizzly gloom but ended up quite dry, if you don't count the ground or our shirts.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey toward the parking deck and up to the third floor. We passed a surprised group that was putting down yoga mats to do their own thing. Bernie up the last ramp. Circle up for Weed Pickers, Moroccan Night Clubs, Hill Billies, Tempo Merkins, Plank Jacks and Mountain Climbers. Run back.

The Thang:

We picked up the cinders and headed toward the sidewalk outside the plaza, toward the bridge. YHC wanted to work out in the open and put F3 for display. Perhaps someone will be inspired by this group of crazies and their cinder blocks?   We placed our cinders on the ground and went back a few feet. A round was: 10 Big Boys at the starting point, run to the cinders, 10 moving Lunges with the cinders and 10 Kettlebell Swings. Put the cinders down and run back.  With each round the cinders get father away. The plan was single count on the lunges, but when someone asks "alpha count on the <whatever>?" you are obligated to say Yes (F3 rule book, chapter 2, section 3A, paragraph II). So alpha count they were. Target was 10 rounds. I think we made it to 8 or 9 when I called rover and mary for the 6. On the way back - Catch me if you can. Partner up. One pax farmer carry two cinders. the other does 5 burpees and catches up. Back at the entrance to the plaza we went to a parking lot for 11s. Comfy Couch and Mike Tysons.  Comfy couch - sit on the cinder, lift your feet above ground and stand back up. It's a no-cheat-deep-squat. I didn't let the pax finish cause I wanted to get another thing in. Circle up for a Merkin Circle. 3 cinders passed between us, moving half a step each time. Meaning, I started with a cinder in front of me so did the Merkin with both hands on it. Then moved it half-way toward Fuzzy Dice on my left and we both did a Merkin with one hand on the cinder. then it moved again and I did a regular Merkin while Fuzzy Dice had the cinder all to himself. Soon after another cinder came toward me from my right and so forth. We tried to get into a rhythm of Down and Left. It was... not orderly but fun and challenging. Mosey back with the cinders. No time for Mary.
