Preamble:

Expected a rainy start, but it was surprisingly dry when we met in the gloom. Cold, though. Red Ryder was surprised by the wind chill and dressed sub-optimally. This matters for later.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey to the other parking lot. Mix in Bernie, Karioke and Ass Kickers. Circle up for SSH, Weed Pickers, Willie Mays Hayes, Moroccan Night Clubs and Copper Head Squats

The Thang:

Mosey to a pavilion that stands among various planters, so we'll have a nice variety of walls to use. A board of pain was waiting at a corner. The wind was quite strong for a moment and Red Ryder complained about his Mangina acting up from the cold (and it started drizzling). That set up the theme for the beatdown. Seriously, the workout didn't matter much anymore and the mumblechatter was all about that. Still, I'll explain what we did for the formality of it. Partner up. The board of pain included exercises listed in pairs, and a rep count. One partner would do the Blue exercise, with the indicated number of reps, while his partner would do the Green exercises AMRAP. Then switch, and THEN move on to the next line. Some PAX were too focused on their manginas and did not listen/understand the instructions, but that was shortly after rectified. The board of pain also included some 'breaks' in the form of a run - up the trail to where we did the warmup exercises. The exercises on the board of pain:

  • 20 Backwards Lunges (singles); AMRAP Flutter Kicks
  • 20 Bulgarian Split Squats (singles); AMRAP Rosalita
  • Run
  • 10 Absolution; AMRAP Burpees
  • 5 Wolverines; AMRAP Kraken
  • Run
Demonstrations given as needed. Once done, PAX were instructed to start over but this time the count would be on the Green exercises. For example: one PAX doing 30 Monkey Humpers while his partner is doing AMRAP Derkins. We did a few of these, but time run out.
