The Swirly
AO: Nirvana
When: 02/15/2025
QIC: No-See-Um
PAX (10): Dosido, Flea, PushBack, Roman, Shazam, Shortcake, Special K, Sprocket, The Real Woody
Preamble:
Well, pre-beatdown on Friday there was talk of a surprise co-Q. Somehow that thread went down a rabbit hole of marathon, half-marathon and iron man talk….some banter back and forth…and lots of us eating popcorn watching from our coaches
- 5 total on the pre-run/ruck
- 10 pax total there for the main event at 0700.
- Disclaimer given a long with the mission of F3 and the 5 Core Principles recited.
Warm-O-Rama:
Straight to the new Turf practice field stopping on the way to plank for the six as our dedicated site Q Dosido posted even with 2-3 cracked vertabrae. Please tell me again how we aren’t the toughest dadgum AO in the history of the Universe!!
Circle up at the 50 for the usual and then counted off by 2’s to form teams for half of the mornings work.
The Thang:
On the way to the trails, two tires were out in plain sight so those suckas were used.
Each team lined up behind their respective tire and all plax planked. One pax would flip tire three times then sprint-ish down to end of building and back. The pax R&R this a couple times until tires started flipping in all different directions “off-course”.
Now on to the trails for a lap around “the loop” that would be used next. Men, let me introduce to you “The Swirly”. Now this wasn’t the smoothest introduction but YHC bets this will make another appearance and only be improved upon.
Each team would space out on the loop 35-40 steps from each other going in different directions….and all pax would go to the plank position. When the “HORN” blew, the two pax at the start would do 5 Burpees then sprint to their partner next in line on the trail loop….in opposite directions remember. Then the next pax would do 5 Burpees and so on…….creating a whirlpool or vortex if you will on the trail. However, in F3 the name was coined on slack as The Swirly and YHC likes it!
Further down the trail towards BFH, pax did a similar thing except only sprinted a lap around a loop along with 20 Merkins at the other end of loop. Now time for the co-Q to reveal himself….no one immediately stepped up and YHC started calling for Caffey to come on out but never did.
Then Pushback stepped up, as was the plan all along, and delivered the knock out Punch of the morning.
Up & Over 7’s with Merkins/Squats utilizing BFH and the other hill behind Milton HS. This was killer and lots of moaning/bitching. Luckily only 20 minutes till time when Pushback took over to the pax weren’t able to fully finish this one except Flea got real close.
Back to the flag just in time!!
COT:
- Prayers and praises were mentioned and you just had to be there.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
- Always honored to lead and thanks to Pushback for taking the back half on Saturday!
