It’s my VQ/BDQ. I’m turning 28 so let’s celebrate!

AO: Boneyard

When: 2025-03-28

QIC: Liquor

PAX (17): Boomer, Busboy, Butterknife, Chanel, Dark Side, Dutch Oven, FannyPack, Floater, Florida Man, Liquor, Manscape, Pigtails, Shrimp, Speedo, Stifler, Stroller, Yokel

Preamble:

Well, before we started, I read the disclaimer (thank you, Dark Side and Busboy, for the script). I put my spin on it and inflected my voice to spice it up. It was nice weather, too, for the BB. Thanks to the 17 PAX for coming out!

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey (w/Butt Kickers & High Knees).  SSH (28), Weed Pickers (10), Windmills (10), Arm Circles (OYO), and Michael Phelps (10, OYO)

The Thang:

For my VQ, I needed some inspiration so I checked out the BB that have been done in the past. I noticed that The_Real Chubbs had a fun BB that involved using a deck of cards (my spin on it, using a Candian Deck of Cards) with face values indicating an exercise and the suit would determine the rep count. However, this time, I will throw some 28 rep counts to celebrate my birthday, change other rep count numbers, and change other exercises. All displayed in a clear and organized table (I really like tables; something wonderful about numbers being displayed in a neat and concise manner for everyone to read).

After doing this for about 35 minutes. The last 5 minutes (credit to Stroller), we did The Monkey Howlers!! We all gathered in a circle and each PAX would do 10 monkey humpers. When the PAX completed their set of monkey humpers, they will hold the monkey humper position, while they "howl"  to the next PAX do their set of 10 reps. FannyPack, you put a new creative twist on the Monkey Howler, that seemed to be quite popular with everyone. With 2 minutes left, we did the ring of fire, and PAX called out exercises to do (I know Stifler called out the Kobe Bryant, we did Pickle Pointer's next, my memory escapes me of who called that out). Then we hit time.

COT:

Reminders for those who want a 10-year anniversary shirt to put your order in by 04/05. Reminders also about Convergence. No prayer request.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

As I stated in the COT, a leader leads by example. A leader also leads from the front, is something else I would add. You all have exemplified that in your actions, and it has been so refreshing to observe and learn, and for that, I thank you all. I would also add that you all have taught me that "don't reinvent the wheel, unless the wheel is flat, then replace it and put a new one on". Sometimes, what we think for a BB will work, when put into practice, ends up not being the best course of action. So, modify as needed, do a new exercise, lower the rep count, etc. Thank you for teaching me those lessons. Liquor out!
