Another Dry Morning

AO: The Hooch

When: 2025-03-31

QIC: Stroller

PAX (11): Angus, Animal, BallBoy, Boomer, Feathers, Maguire, Meatball, Popper (Dan Richard), Scrooge, Stroller, Turk

Preamble:

Some Q sheet scouting a few weeks ago revealed a few openings at the Hooch. Been doing this almost 7 years and have never Q'd at the Hooch, so...let's go!! Sick kids overnight threatened to derail it, but YHC was able to answer the call when the alarm went off. Light-ish crowd with the threat of rain, but no time to cry about how I miss Saint2O. Time to get stronger!

Warm-O-Rama:

Run around the parking lot and circle up near the cinema for SSH, imperial walker, copperhead squat, and forward fold- musings incoming: when I look around during the weedpicker half the PAX are just doing a static stretch...so why not just hang? I think I'm sticking with this from now on

The Thang:

Took this beatdown from Michael Easter's Burn the Ships, which this month was provided by Dark Helmet. Swapped some exercises around, added a Stroller twist to it, and voila...
  • 1 lap around the parking lot, roughly 0.4 miles
  • 3 rounds
    • 25 flutter kicks w/ press
    • 20 situps
    • 20 bent-over rows
    • 45 second high plank
  • 1 lap
  • 2 rounds
    • 20 curls
    • 20 bench press
    • 20 skull crushers
    • 45 second low plank
  • 1 lap
  • 1 round
    • 15 manmakers
    • 50 calf raises
    • 20 KB swings
    • 45 second lunge hold (a yoga thing which I am now learning is called a runner's lunge. Get in a long straight-legged lunge. Lift arms out like an airplane)
  • 1 lap
Everyone made it all the way down the board and then got as far as they could through a second go-round. Back to the flag right at time.

COT:

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Meatball said the tunes were great, which he has never said about a Stroller Q before. The 90s playlist was a success overall although some of the selections were a bit less loved. Thanks for providing!
